FAQ

Hand Dyed Yarn

We hand-dye all of our yarn in small batches to ensure that each collection is high quality and consistent. However, the inherent uniqueness of each skein of yarn is part of the beauty and allure of hand-dyed yarn.

We do our best to make sure all yarn in a colorway is as similar as possible, but it is impossible to make each skein identical. There will always be some amount of variance between skeins, even from the same batch, but that is to be expected of any hand-dyed yarn.

The pictures we upload will be as accurate as possible, but please keep in mind that what you receive may look a little different than what you see online (also keep in mind that colors may appear differently on different digital screens). Our product photos are taken in a photo box to ensure consistent neutral lighting across products.

To see our colorways in different lighting and settings, check out our Instagram @cloudsheepfibers.

For the best results, we recommend alternating skeins to account for any subtle differences between each skein.

Caring for hand-dyed yarn

We recommend hand-washing all projects made with our hand-dyed yarn. To do so, first fill a tub or basin with enough water to fully submerge the yarn. Then add your wool wash and mix to evenly disperse it. Place the yarn in the water and let sit for 15-20 minutes. Finally, if your wool wash requires rinsing, gently rinse the yarn, if not, simply squeeze the yarn to remove excess water and lay flat to dry.

Note: it's completely normal for hand-dyed yarn to bleed a little bit on the first wash. If the yarn continues to bleed, please let us know!

Shipping

For in-stock yarn, we will do our best to ship orders placed before 2pm PST on business days the same day, otherwise they will ship the following day. Orders placed after 2pm PST will ship the following day.

Domestic orders will be shipped with USPS First Class Package or Priority Mail and tracking will be provided once USPS receives the package.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we do not do international shipping.

Note: as we are a one-woman shop, there is a small chance that your order will take longer than usual to process due to unforseen delays. If that happens, we will reach out directly and let you know when to expect your order.

Refunds

Please contact us if for some reason you are unhappy with your order, and we will do our best to make it right. In order to qualify for a refund, the return must be initiated within 14 days of receiving the order, and the yarn must be in its original skein format (unwound or caked yarn will not receive a refund). Yarn from the Wabi Sabi collection is not eligible for a refund. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, as shipping charges are non-refundable.
